How to order a cake, burger, pizza or shawarma in Chitral
Craving shawarma at 9 pm, or need a birthday cake for tomorrow? In Chitral the usual way is to ask a friend who knows a friend. That works, but it is slow, and you often end up at a closed shutter.
This guide shows how to find bakeries, cafés and fast-food spots on Chitral Bazaar, check who is open right now, and place your order on WhatsApp, with the exact screens you will see.
1Search for what you are craving
Open chitralbazaar.com and type the food itself, not a shop name: shawarma, burger, pizza, cake or birthday cake. Search looks inside every shop's menu and description, so you get every place that makes it, not just places with the word in their name.
Spelling does not have to be perfect. "Shwarma", "shawarma" and "chicken shawarma" all find the same shops.
2Check who is open now
Each result shows a green Open now or a grey Closed label, worked out from the shop's opening hours in Chitral time. Tap Open now above the results to hide every shop that is closed at the moment.
Late at night this matters most: most bakeries close in the evening, while a few cafés stay open until 11 pm.
Tip: A shop owner can mark their shop Closed today for Eid, a wedding or travel. Chitral Bazaar shows that too, so you won't be surprised.
3For cakes, start with Bakeries
Birthday and party cakes are made by bakeries, not cafés. Open the Bakeries category to see every bakery in Chitral: in Attaleeq Bazaar, Main Bazaar, Polo Ground, PIA Chowk, DC House Road and Jamuxi.
Open a bakery to see its photos, its address with a nearby landmark, and what it makes. Several bakeries also make pizza and shawarma, so they are worth checking for a quick meal as well.
Tip: Order a custom or birthday cake at least a day ahead. Send the size, flavour and the name to write on it in one message.
4Order on WhatsApp or call
On any shop's page, tap WhatsApp to open a chat with the shop, or Call to phone them straight away. The WhatsApp message starts with a short greeting so the shop knows you found them on Chitral Bazaar.
Ask about price, ready time and delivery before you confirm. Some cafés, such as Dubai Cafe and The Taste Paradise, mention home delivery on their page.
- For a cake: "Salam, I'd like a 2-pound chocolate cake for tomorrow at 5 pm, with 'Happy Birthday Ayesha'. What is the price?"
- For food: "Salam, 2 chicken shawarmas and 1 zinger burger. Can you deliver to [your area], and how long will it take?"
5Prefer to pick it up? Get directions
Tap Visit shop on the shop's page to see where it is on the map, with walking directions from where you are. Landmarks like "opposite Polo Ground Gate" or "near Attaleeq Bridge" are shown on every page, so you can also just ask anyone nearby.
Ordering for a wedding, mehndi or party
Big orders need a little more planning. For a wedding, mehndi, birthday party or a school function, contact two or three bakeries or cafés three to five days ahead, especially in the wedding season and before Eid, when kitchens are busiest.
Send everything in one message so the shop can quote you properly: the date and time, the number of guests, what you need (for example a 5-pound cake, 50 shawarmas or 30 burgers), whether you want delivery, and your budget. Ask whether they need an advance, and save their reply as your order confirmation.
- Cakes: size in pounds, flavour, the message to write, and any picture you want on top.
- Fast food: exact quantities, sauces or extras, and whether it should be packed for each guest.
- Pickup or delivery: the time you'll collect it, or the full address with a nearby landmark.
Tip: Ask the shop to send a photo of the cake before it leaves the bakery. Most bakeries in Chitral are happy to do this on WhatsApp.
Check reviews before you order
Many shops now have reviews from people in Chitral: stars, quick tags like Achi quality or Munasib qeemat, and short comments. If you've ordered from a place, leave a review too. It takes ten seconds and helps everyone else. See how to write or edit a review.
